Gus Schumacher 

Gus Schumacher is an American cross-country skier who became the first American to win gold in an individual race at the Junior World Ski Championships in 2020. He represented Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and went on to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, where he helped earn a silver medal in the men’s team sprint. He has also been featured in The New York Times for his rise in the sport and impact on American cross-country skiing.
